Hiding/Displaying Your Email Address
Not to be confused with the Disabling Email Invites option, which prevents users from inviting you via your email address.
By default, your email address can appear in certain places to other users, such as when a user on your Contact List wants to invite participants to a discussion. This can be useful to easily identify other users. For example, teachers with large classes may require students to display their emails to not have to remember which display name each student is using. If desired, this can be disabled.
Only users who you already have a connection with (for example, being in the same discussion or team) are able to view your email address as a result of this option being enabled.
To hide your email address from other users:
- Open your User Settings.
- Uncheck the ‘Show my email address to other users’ option.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.
To display your email address again, repeat the steps, this time checking the option.
