About Archiving and Deleting Claims

  • On Kialo Edu, claims can either be archived or deleted.
  • Archiving a claim puts the claim into a state where it is not considered to be “active” in the discussion. Archived claims can be unarchived.
  • Deleting a claim removes all record of it from a discussion. Deleting a claim is irreversible.
  • A claim must first be archived to be eligible to be deleted.

About Archived Claims

  • Archived claims are removed from the default view in a discussion, however can still be accessed by users and be commented on.
  • You can view or hide archived claims by toggling the (archived claims icon) button in the top-right of a discussion. While this is enabled, you will also see archived claims in your search results, allowing you to search for archived claims.
  • For participants who were active in the discussion before the claim was archived, it will remain visible in the discussion as a “greyed out” claim until interacted with or the notification is marked as seen.
