Note:

To change the thesis structure of a discussion, you must have Admin permissions or higher.

To change a discussion from multi- to single-thesis, or vice-versa: 

1. Click the ≡ Discussion Menu icon in the top-left of a discussion.
2. Select Settings.
3. Click Change Discussion Type.

You cannot change a multi-thesis discussion to a single-thesis if there is currently more than one thesis in the discussion — you will need to consolidate the theses first.
