Kialo is WCAG 2.2<\/a> AA accessible and compliant with the Section 508<\/a> standard.<\/p>

Kialo Edu (kialo-edu.com<\/a>) is a product specifically designed for classroom use. Kialo Edu’s mission is to assist educators world-wide to train critical thinking, facilitate classroom debate, and explain controversial issues. We are therefore committed to ensuring that Kialo Edu is accessible to all regardless of ability or technical requirement.<\/p>

Compliance<\/h2>

We continuously have accessibility in mind when designing our platform. This includes following leading accessibility guidelines and standards such as the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2<\/a> and Section 508 standards<\/a> in the United States with which we are compliant. For more information on this, please see our VPAT report (.pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>

We also carry out accessibility audits to identify where we can improve. Our last external audits were in 2022, 2023 and 2024. We continually implement all key areas of improvement.<\/p>

This statement is based on our previous audits and internal testing using JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver.<\/p>

We remain proactive about identifying and resolving all conformance issues.<\/p>

Features<\/h2>

Kialo Edu provides users with a number of accessibility features, including the following:<\/p>

Screen-Reader Compatibility:<\/strong> All Kialo Edu features have been developed with screen readers in mind, so all functionality works flawlessly using screen readers. We continuously test the following browser and screen-reader combinations for these operating systems:<\/p>

  1. Windows: Firefox & NVDA, Google Chrome & JAWS<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Mac: Safari & VoiceOver<\/li>\n<\/ol>

    While we currently do not continuously test with screen-readers on mobile devices, all Kialo Edu features work for the following system and screen-reader combinations:<\/p>

    1. Apple iOS\/iPadOS, Safari, VoiceOver<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Android, Google Chrome, TalkBack<\/li>\n<\/ol>

      Colors:<\/strong> Kialo can be used in color blind mode. Users with red-green color vision deficiency can enable an optimized color scheme<\/a>.<\/p>

      Keyboard Navigation<\/strong>: Kialo is entirely operable by keyboard only. All claims can be accessed by keyboard through the regular site-navigation.<\/p>

      Orientation:<\/strong> Kialo Edu can be used in all orientations on tablets and desktop computers.<\/p>

      Zoom: <\/strong>Users can zoom freely using their browser zoom. This zooms in on the whole interface.<\/p>
